CEO of Sony, said they building "another type of TV", as Apple

Everyone is waiting on Apple "reinventing" the TV, but Sony CEO Howard Stringer has recently confirmed that Sony intensify in the battle, too. Stringer, said recently at a luncheon organised by the Wall Street Journal, which:

There is a huge amount of R & D enter another type of TV. We cannot continue to sell TV sets [as we currently]. Each TV set, that we all make loses money.

Stringer, said that he has "no doubt" that Steve Jobs had intentions of the design of a whole new kind of television, but also stated that "it will take much time the transition to a new form of television". Reports have floated that Apple would use its control engine Siri voice on their yet announced television series, where Stringer was not specific on how Sony would leave the TV set.

Stringer told the WSJ that he is ready to take on what Apple will provide with a "four screen" approach, which includes mobile devices such as tablets and phones, as well as computers and television, but connected TV is, of course, not unique. Stringer claimed boldly that "I spent the last five years to build a platform, so I can compete with Steve Jobs, it is finished, and it launches now".

What a next-gen PlayStation, Mr. Stringer?
