Modern Warfare 3 breaks records of sales of a day of entertainment, the developers begging customers for better Metacritic ratings

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are once more, it became more launch of entertainment of all time, breaking the previous record established by... Call of Duty: Black Ops last year. MW3 took in more than 400 million $ in revenues in just 24 hours, sale of 6.5 million copies of the game on all 3 platforms in the United States and the United Kingdom.


Black Ops from $ 360 million on its opening day last year, with Modern Warfare 2 raking in $ 310 million in the first 24 hours. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotickt says:


We believe that the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the biggest launch of entertainment of all time on any support, and we have achieved this record with sales of only two territories. Others that Call of Duty, there never was an another entertainment franchise that has defined the opening day record three years in a row. Sales of life-to-date for the Call of Duty franchise exceed theatrical box office in the world for "Star Wars" and "Lord of the Rings", two of the entertainment franchises most successful of all time.

At present, it seems fairly obvious that Modern Warfare 3 will be sucker punch the five-day sales records around the world, with Black Ops doing last year by winning a book of $ 650 million, beating all theatrical box office and the records of sales of video games for the same period of time.


Now, let's keep in mind this is just sales - let's talk about the real game. Yesterday, we saw the Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games as in reuse of buildings in four years titles of cod. But, they do not appear to be made to the field of battle 3 - developers, or users. Modern Warfare 3 has a user Rating of 1.7 (on PC), where BF3 has a user Rating of 7.5 (again, on PC). All "fanboys of battlefield" are certainly not logging in Metacritic and just push the score MW3...


Call of Duty can sell more, but Battlefield pushes the technology industry. Graphics, sound, card sizes, development focused on PC, new graphics engine (instead of a Quake 3 engine cut-to-parts 12 year). Say that the launch in 2012 next-gen consoles... with MW4 on the same engine MW3 chart (which is so old that it is not funny), battle field 4 launches on 2.5 frostbite. Can you imagine the differences of textures, the size of the map, detail, lighting, shadows, destruction, etc.?


Cod is a DX9-esque game, BF3 is built on DX11-level (and scale down) and is phenomenal. Of course, you can be the fans of the two, but from a technological perspective, cod is as cool brother, older which was popular in high school and lives today in the House with his parents, living vicariously through his computer. Battlefield 3 is the University educated, suave, ladies man who drinks scotch on the rocks as a God damn boss.


But still, you cannot deny that Call of Duty is not to sell like hotcakes on acid, mixed with steroids, while it is powered by alien DNA and a song by Lady Gaga. Crazy numbers.
