AppId is over the quota
Google's tablet and smartphone OS, Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich has been shown off in various forms over the past few months, most notably on Samsung's Galaxy Nexus. But now, Google have announced through their AndroidDev twitter account that the source code for ICS is available to the general public.
This means that manufacturers can start building Android 4.0 updates for their devices, but more importantly, it will allow the community to get their hands sticky with ICS. Community developers such as CyanogenMod and MIUI can start building their custom ROMs which should keep us happy until manufacturers go through lengthy internal and external testing cycles.
The Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) source code never made it to the general public, so this marks the first time [and exciting] we'll see a Tablet-based custom ROM. Hopefully Samsung can crank out an ICS update to the Galaxy S II soon!
